An Assault on Profits and the Productive

In his article which recently appeared in Forbes entitled “The Government’s Peculiar Assault on Profits”, John Tamny makes a couple of interesting points,

  • Business success is the result of consumer plebiscite
  • There is no investment without profit, and there are no jobs without investment
  • Investors vote on government policies through the stock market every day

This supports my belief that the free market is the ultimate democracy.

This administration is orchestrating the biggest assault on the productive in our society since FDR’s demagoguery, which ultimately drove us into the Great Depression.

My “hope” for this administration is that it is not as successful in this attack as FDR was in his.

John Tamny is editor of RealClearMarkets, and writes a weekly column for Forbes
